NEW PERSPECTIVES ON PARENTING
Learning How to Change Yourself to Radically Influence Your Kids
“People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in their beauty is revealed only if there is light from within.”
– Elisabeth Kubler-Ross
Here are some testimonial excerpts from satisfied parents (please wait for multiple excerpts):
Dr Angel Adams is my mentor who completely changed my life moulded by having been brought up in a Victorian household. She taught me the act of unconditional love towards my own children and helped me break the cycle of the 'dive bomber parent.'- RM
The initial New Perspectives Parenting course that Angel ran was fantastic. Both my husband and I have found it invaluable in our relationship with and expectations of Jack, our son with SEN. However, it has helped with all of our children.
The follow-up "booster" sessions are as important and in some ways more important. Sometimes when these great courses are provided, there is no feedback or contact further down the line. We need the ongoing support that these booster sessions provide.
Our lives are in total flux, always changing, always producing new challenges. We need to have a support system in place to help us deal with the challenges our children bring us in order that we can be the best parents we can. This does not come naturally and we need people like Angel to give us guidance to help point us in the right direction and give a little nudge when we need it.
My feelings are, "AT LAST, A PERMANENT PERSON WHO IS IN IT FOR THE DURATION" and not just passing through our chaotic and ever changing lives. Which leads me to Angel. Her personal input is beyond words. Her calm approach and the fact that she has an answer to every situation that is presented to her, is the biggest support of all.
How lucky we were to meet you and to have you on our team - just about everyone I speak to knows or knows of you (and you are always regarded as one with the expertise) - we so appreciate your involvement, and your clout! It is very reassuring for us so thank you. We believe it was fate.
Wonderful, wonderful lady. Diagnosed my son and was of great help :) I have huge respect for her. Thank you Angel.- CW
I learned more from Dr Adams in one session then I did over a year of attending another clinic with my child.- JD
My daughter is much happier after the help you gave her for her depression. I really feel that this is a chance for her to move on and start a new chapter of her life.- LH
Thank you again for all the sessions and helping my daughter and me. She no longer has that paralysing anxiety.Parent of 7 year old child Raynes Park
Thanks very much for report, it was a true reflection of what my child is like, you really managed to sum him up. It was lovely to meet you and you have really help my family to get a better understanding of his diagnosis.Parent of nine year old boy, Kent
You seemed to have wowed all the teachers at school. They said you have made them look at things differently, especially how they are handling a number of the girls & are already implementing some new things. My daughter is so pleased that her teacher has met 'her Angel' and things are also going well at school. So thank you so much. Things are going well here & we all seem a lot calmer including my husband.. Thank you so much for all you have done for us - we are pulling closer together as a family.- Mother of child in primary school, Sutton Surrey

Let‘s face it, it takes tremendous energy, time, patience and focus to meet the demands of raising even neurotypical children. Here are some testimonial excerpts from satisfied organisations (please wait for multiple excerpts):
Angel, you inspire me with everything you do and as to what you have achieved in supporting families living with and managing ADHD. You gave me the faith to carry on doing what I do, especially when times were difficult within my own family and from this, I personally feel you were my guardian angel encouraging me to move forward and start our new project for young people with ADHD.--Margaret Alsop, Founder, Dorset ADHD Support Group
We have greatly appreciated the opportunity to discuss behaviours with Angel which we believe arise from mental health issues and to discuss ways forward for these students. Teachers have felt more confident in dealing with these students as they now feel they 'understand' the issues a little better. We now have 'strategies' to try with groups of students where we were completely at a loss before.- YD, Inclusion Manager, Greenshaw High School
Angel has an easy, relaxed style with both students and staff and students readily respond to her. Students talk openly and honestly to Angel revealing their hopes, fears and concerns within the first session - it's been amazing to be present in some of these sessions! Students talk enthusiastically about seeing Angel and often ask (sometimes on a daily basis!) when she will be in again. The interventions are certainly having an impact.- YD, Inclusion Manager, Greenshaw High School
Staff have commented that several pupils are less anxious regarding the particular problems and are keen to return to Angel’s sessions.- Claudette Sims, Deputy Head Teacher Carew Manor School
The feedback from your workshop has been really positive, including that people wish it could have gone on longer so we could maybe think about running a similar course on one of our Sunday open days much later in the year perhaps.- Kasumi Witty SCOLA
I just wanted to thank you again for the workshop you ran for parents this week. The evaluations were very positive although the general feeling was that they would have liked more time as it covered such a big area. Perhaps we can run another session in the future.- Sue Tomes, Head Teacher Wimbledon Chase Primary School
Thank you very much for delivering the session on behaviour at our school today. It was really useful for all those who attended and the feedback was very positive.- Clare, SENCO
The London Borough of Sutton’s Local Authority have utilised my parent training programme called New Perspectives on Parenting since 2008 in which I have successfully facilitated on-going groups. This is specifically aimed for parents who have children with challenging behaviours (such as often occurs in autism, attachment disorders, Tourette’s syndrome, ADHD and ODD). Over the years, we have collected evidence-based data to show its effectiveness. I am interested in taking this programme to other boroughs in the greater London area.
Courses, workshops, seminars, speaking engagements, and insets can be arranged to take place in the local community and civic centre offices, Salvation Army, and schools if there is a need for a community based programme. This can also be arranged for your company during office hours as part of an Employee Assistance Programme.
Please feel free to contact me to discuss the details of potential courses, groups, speaking engagements, staff training or other programmes.
